Today (11th August 2017) three titans are all set to clash at the Tollywood boxoffice. Rana with his “Nene Raju Nene Mantri”, Nitin with his “L IE” and Boyapati with his “Jaya Janaki Nayaka” are the warring trio. One of them is already on the backfoot.
With three top billed films being released on one day it is quite natural that there is a scramble for screen space among the warring parties. Inevitably one of them has to lose out and that happens to be Boyapati’s “Jaya Janaki Nayaka”. The pre-release business for “Jaya Janaki Nayaka” has been higher than that of the other two films. The producer of the film is a new comer to the industry and so are several of the buyers. As a result of the three films to be released today, Boyapati’s film has managed to corner the least number of cinema halls. The film could not find screen space in mass areas frequented by die hard film goers. This could be a critical factor in deciding the financial fate of the film. However, “Nene Raju Nene Mantri” was produced by the well established Suresh Productions. The producer Suresh Daggubati has a firm grip on the trade and could easily corner the highest screen space for his film. “L I E” on the other hand stars Nitin whose father is a famed distributor himself. He too had a good grip on the chain of theatres and could get his son’s film released even in mass areas.
The only factor that “Jaya Janaki Nayaka” can rely on right now is its content. If the film offers could content and is capable of drawing the audiences, then automatically it will succeed in attracting more screen space and therefore realise a better performance at the box office. We just have to wait and see which of these stalwarts is going to be the winner.
