Karthi is not new to Telugu audiences. He has done many films directly in Telugu. Many of his Tamil films have been dubbed into Telugu too. One such dubbed movie “Khakee” has done decent collections during the first week run of its Telugu version.
At the end of its first week run in the Telugu states Karthi’s “Khakee” has had a decent collection of Rs.4.69 Crores according to trade circles. That is very good collections considering that the theatrical rights for the Telugu version were bought for Rs.5.00 crores including publicity costs. This means that within the first week itself the film has brought the buyers close to a safe zone. Trade circles opine that with just one more week at the box office the film will push them into a profit zone.
When the film was released the collections that it fetched raised hopes of a big blockbuster. In the first weekend itself the film saw a collection of Rs.3.59 Crores in shares. However, thereafter during the week days the film was a disappointment, fetching only Rs.1.10 Crores during the entire week. However, it did bring the distributors to a safe zone. Check out how much it collected area-wise in the Telugu states.
