Varun Tej’s “Mister” proved to be a huge box office disaster. The fact is that, after the movie was declared a disaster, it was the director Sreenu Vaitla who took all the flak for the film’s failure. But did it have an impact on the hero’s next film too?
Varun Tej is now set to act in his next venture being produced by veteran producer BVSN Prasad and directed by Venkat Atluri. It has been announced that the music director Rock Star Devi Sri Prasad dropped out of the film owing to his inability to give them the right dates. Similarly the heroine of the film Mehreen Kaur also has dropped out of the film. She too cites her inability to provide them the requisite dates to do the film.
It does sound strange that two important crew members ought to leave at a time citing the same reason. The question being asked around now is if this is a result of “Mister” bombing at the box office. The two who left do not wish to be associated with Varun’s project. One does not know if that is indeed the truth but the timing of their departure does raise doubts. It has to be said in Varun’s defence that though “Mister” failed commercially his performance came in for some appreciation. The worst criticism that he met with was that he was wasted in the film.
