The pre-release event of “Khaidi No 150” was not without its own share of controversies. The comments made by Nagababu, brother of Chiranjeevi, when he spoke on stage, did cause a stir. Read on to find out what happened.
When he took the stage Nagababu began by thanking his elder brother Chiranjeevi for fulfilling a long cherished desire of fans to see their Mega Star back on screen. He then went on to make caustic remarks in reaction to comments made by others on the members of the Mega family and the movie “Khaidi No 150”. Referring at first to a writer of repute he expressed his respect for that man but called him a fool for making disparaging remarks about Ram Charan. He accused a writer (without naming him) that he had made derogatory remarks about Ram Charan with the intention of highlighting someone else. Next Nagababu took on a director who started his career in Tollywood but made his way to Bollywood. Nagababu reacted to tweets made by that director (again without naming him) about Chiranjeevi and “Khaidi No 150”. He categorically asked that director to return to Mumbai and Bollywood instead of making uncalled for comments.
Everybody there understood that Nagababu tacitly refered to writer Yandamoori Veerendranath and director Ram Gopal Varma The acerbic nature of Nagababu’s remarks and the force of his vitriol did take everyone by surprise.
