SS Rajamouli’s epic film completed 100 days in select centres recently. However, indefatigable magnum opus is yet to run out of steam. Recently the digital rights – on line streaming rights – for the film were sold at a stunning price.
The digital streaming rights for “Bahubali – The Conclusion” were sold to Netflix, an on-line entertainment app provider slowly trying to find a foothold in India which is perceived to be one of the largest markets of the future. Buying the streaming rights for “Bahubali – The Conclusion” made very good business sense for the company, since that will certainly bring in the viewers to their site from within India. For the film makers the advantage is that the film can now be viewed in 192 countries globally. The rights were sold to Netflix for US $4 Million (approximately Rs.26 crores).
The other major development for the film, which the whole industry is waiting with bated breath, is its release in China. After Aamir Khan’s “Dangal” became an incredible success in that country, all eyes moved towards “Bahubali – The Conclusion” to see when it will hit the screens there and how it will perform in that country.
