Akkineni Nagarjuna and his daughter in law Samantha come together before the audiences in the horror comedy film “Raju Gari Gadhi 2”. The film had a decent pre-release business and the total share collections have gone beyond the half way mark.
“Raju Gari Gadhi 2” reportedly sold all its theatrical rights for Rs.24 crores worldwide. During the first week the film collected a share of Rs.13.92 crores in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states alone. While that figure is appreciable, it is still far from helping distributors break even. For the distributors to break even and get into a profit zone, the film will have to run well for another week or ten days. With competition from “Raja the Great”, the trade is sceptical about the chances of the film fetching profits. Much depends on how things work out over the coming week end.
The positive talk that “Raju Gari Gadhi 2” has achieved in the first week could stand it in good stead. We just have to wait for a week and see how the fortunes of the distributors swing. Check out how much the film collected in the first week globally.
