Veteran director Singeetham Srinivasa Rao was on the sets of “Mahanati” today in Hyderabad. The legendary film maker had worked as Assistant Director to KV Reddy for “Maya Bazaar” way back in 1957.
The “Mahanati” unit was shooting an important scene for their film today in Hyderabad. It was a scene from the old classic block buster “Maya Bazaar”. They were shooting a scene in which SV Ranga Rao and Savitri appear together. The unit had erected a massive set in Ramoji Film City to recreate an important scene from the legendary blockbuster of 1957. The scene being shot today had Mohan Babu playing SV Ranga Rao as Ghatotkacha, director Krish was essaying the role of KV Reddy who had directed the original “Maya Bazaar” and Tharun Bhascker was essaying the role of Singeetam Srinivas Rao who was the assistant director for that legendary film. The greatest moment came when Singeetham Srinivas Rao himself walked into the sets to see the shoot for himself. He was quite amused to see a young director playing his role. It was a walk down nostalgia lane for the legendary film maker. He saw the grand set erected to recreate the original. He reportedly had tears in his eyes as he made an emotional speech to the crew present.
